How we support schools

Pulse Therapy and Learning Center supports schools in including children with special educational needs, intellectual and developmental delays, and learning difficulties in mainstream classes.

We work alongside a school’s or nursery’s inclusion program. Our inclusion team works with children, school teachers, and SEN departments on individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral intervention plans (BIPs), and provides scheduled supervision in schools, monthly or every two weeks, so that a child’s learning and developmental needs are met.

Pulse Therapy and Learning Center follows the Dubai Inclusive Education Policy Framework in delivering inclusion support and in helping schools meet inclusion policies and children’s learning outcomes while developing their SEN practice.

The inclusive education program at Greenwood International School

Pulse, in collaboration with Greenwood International School, provides an inclusive education program. It includes:

• Registration in KG1 and KG2 through Greenwood International School and Pulse Therapy and Learning Center
• Certified ABA therapists
• Speech and language therapy sessions
• Occupational therapy sessions
• Life skills and adaptive skills training
• An individualized education plan (IEP)
• A 2:1 student-to-teacher ratio
• Behavioral intervention plans
• Parent workshops
• Six hours a day of an academic curriculum and inclusion
• BCBA supervision
• Transportation available on request

What the program aims to do

We support students in the general education classroom and prepare them for mainstream school. Our inclusive class works as a classroom with a range of accommodations, not as an ABA center. We use ABA methodology and principles, and we want students to learn how to be in a large school: how to move from subject to subject, how to get ready for snack time and lunchtime, how to sit and attend in a classroom with different distractions, and how to become independent learners.

In the classroom we work on students’ behavior, social skills, communication and language skills, sensory integration, and academic skills. We teach the school curriculum and differentiate it for each student’s skill level.

We set an IEP for each student, work on the specific IEP goals, and include students in the Greenwood International School KG classroom with support. Students take part in school events and activities.
